Orlando pirates took some time away from their game schedule and visited P.U.S.H (Persevere Until Something Happens) Children’s Home in Eldorado Park after returning from a mini-camp in Nelspruit. P.U.S.H Children’s Home is an HIV/AIDS support centre. They are supported and cared for at a young age until they reach the age of 18, thereafter those that complete their Matric and graduate come back to the centre to give back to the kids who are still at the centre.
Orlando Pirates soccer club was founded in 1937 in Orlando, Soweto. Every year the Buccaneers commit to CSI projects which help the less fortunate. This year the soccer players wore their Santa hats, handed over some presents to the children and participated in fun activities with the kids, including dancing, photo booths, and games.
According to Orlando Pirates Midfielder, Linda Mnatmbo “We are here for our Christmas CSI and to give our time to the kids here at P.U.S.H.In my own definition, I’d say it means ‘Pray Until Something Happens’, so they persevere and we pray, and it’s a place where they look after abandon kids and they feed and look after the community, and make sure kids get homes.
