Moti Group donates water to community during Ramadan

As part of Ramadan celebrations, Moti Cares, the philanthropic arm of the Moti Group, on Saturday, 17 April 2021, donated hundreds of cases of water to the community in Lenasia.

At the event, held at the Lenasia Cricket Stadium on Saturday, Moti staff assisted LENZ FM by setting up for a mass Iftaar for members of the community who are in most need. During the Iftaar, Moti water was supplied as a fundamental resource of hydration.

Islam is a major world religion in which Muslims accept surrender to the will of Allah. The holy month of Ramadan sees Muslims worldwide fasting, refraining from sinful behaviour and devoting themselves to prayer.

Water is considered one of the most profound elements in Islam and it is regarded as a blessing from Allah that gives and sustains all life in this world. “Alhamdulillah for water that sustains us”.

Each year during the holy month of Ramadan, the Moti Group, via Moti Cares, donates thousands of cases of water to communities. As a part of the celebrations, the Group supports Muslims by helping their fellow humans and giving back to these communities.

Saturday’s event was just one of the many “Moti Cares” outreach projects, that aims to support those in need in and around Johannesburg, and more water will be distributed to more communities who need it most during the holy month of Ramadan.

Zunaid Moti, Founder and CEO of the Moti Group believes that water is a valuable resource in both life and in the ways of Islam, and as such, it is considered a great humanitarian act in Islam to give water. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) once narrated: “The best form of charity is to give someone water.”
