Mall of Africa is wrapping up the Festive Season’22 on a happy note by donating the proceeds of its Christmas wrapping service to provide much-needed stationery at the Gideon Rambuwani Combined School in Klipfontein. Nearly three months into the new school year, these learners still do not have the basic materials to assist in their growth and learning.
Mall of Africa collaborated with co-owner Attacq, through its social responsibility trust, the Attacq Foundation, and Studio Universal, to raise R55 000.00 from the mall’s gift-wrapping service over the Festive period. This money will be given to relief agency, Gift of the Givers, to manage the purchase and distribution of the necessary stationery packs.
Social Executive for Attacq, Janine Palm states that “efforts to align with educational upliftment and skills development is key to the Attacq Foundation. We thank our shoppers for supporting Mall of Africa’s initiatives in order for us to make a tangible contribution and difference to our learners in need.”
This project by Gift of the Givers allows the learners at Gideon Rambuwani Combined School to remain on track with their school year without being unduly disadvantaged.
“Ensuring that our youth are educated, equipped with the necessary skills, and are sufficiently prepared for employment, is the primary focus area of Mall of Africa’s programmes and initiatives,” says Johann Fourie, General Manager for Mall of Africa.
