Atter Pathology Services (APS),the engine behind the Dis-Chem national Covid-19 drive through testing sites including the V&A Waterfront’s Battery Park site, are delighted to announce that they are the first African pathology network to have signed up to International Air Transport Association (IATA)’s Travel Pass.
As the world moves to secure health passports to enable us to travel freely again, APS have joined forces with IATA, which represents 292 airlines (80% of the travel industry), to become their first African partner.APS is now in discussion with a variety of international airlines to encourage South Africa’s first trial of the pass, with the objective of encouraging the airlines back to South Africa.
Mike Atter, Co-founder of APS, has announced, “With our network of accredited molecular science labs, combined with our partnership with PreLink CloudLIMS, the premier Lab Information System (LIS) in the country, we offer the airlines and passengers the most secure platform of undertaking and received Covid-19 results. All of our electronic results are fully encrypted at rest and in transit with added QR code verification. We have complete compliance with POPIA, GDPR and HIPAA, as PreLink CloudLIMS is hosted on the secure Microsoft Azure platform.
Not only is our network about restoring confidence to travel but it has the full functionality of being able to integrate/interface with all current pathology laboratories, both state and private”. With many countries talking about vaccine records needing to be uploaded to Health Passports, APS’s solution is scalable and secure, and is able to offer integration of vaccine records. APS have been invited to join the Western Cape Government task team for the vaccine roll out.
