Demand Drives GLOW Women’s Movement

Strong demand for Wholesome Women’s GLOW experience is driving the rapid growth of a platform bringing women together around wellbeing, personal development, movement and social connection.

The response to GLOW Johannesburg has prompted organisers to expand its October experience at Fourways Mall, following the platform’s move beyond Johannesburg into Durban earlier this year.

But its growth points to something broader than demand for another wellness event.

GLOW is emerging as part of a changing approach to women’s wellbeing, where physical health sits alongside confidence, personal development, belonging and opportunities for women to build meaningful connections with one another.

Created by Wholesome Women (WW), the platform is structured around five pillars — MOVE, ALIGN, FUEL, GLOW and CONNECT — bringing movement, nutrition, wellness, beauty, personal growth and community into a single experience.

“We knew Johannesburg was ready for GLOW, but the response has exceeded our expectations,” said Shantal Moeko, co-founder of Wholesome Women.

The Johannesburg response follows GLOW’s expansion to Durban in June 2026 and has now resulted in a second Johannesburg session being introduced for 3 October.

For WW, however, the significance lies less in the additional session than in the growing community forming around the platform.

Women are increasingly looking for spaces where wellbeing is not treated simply as exercise or self-care, but as something connected to relationships, confidence, learning and a sense of belonging.

“GLOW is about creating an experience rather than simply another event,” said Tamaryn Nicholson, co-founder of Wholesome Women.

“We want women to walk away feeling like they have moved their bodies, filled their cups, learnt something new, connected with other women and, most importantly, had a genuinely great time.”

That combination has helped GLOW develop from its Johannesburg origins into a platform capable of reaching women in different cities.

Its model also creates an opportunity for businesses to participate in women’s wellbeing in ways that extend beyond conventional event sponsorship.

Under Armour returns as headline partner for Johannesburg, supporting an experience centred on movement, confidence and women’s personal development.

The partnership illustrates how consumer brands can connect their commercial purpose with communities around issues directly relevant to the people they serve.

For Wholesome Women, the growing response provides an opportunity to continue developing GLOW as a national community rather than a series of once-off events.

The Johannesburg experience will bring that community together again at Fourways Mall Centre Court on 3 October, with sessions at 09:00 and 16:00.

Tickets are available through Quicket.
