Healthcare workers given ‘a little bit of home’ during their long shifts

Healthcare workers in Gauteng can now enjoy their cups of tea and warm food during the long shifts thanks to a donation of kitchen and household appliances from DEFY. The manufacturer of home appliances donated kitchen appliances worth the value of R1.9m to Jubilee Hospital, Tshwane District Hospital and Mamelodi Hospital. The main purpose of the donation was to show support to the nation’s #healthcareheroes during the pandemic.

“The world is facing unprecedented turmoil at this time and our #healthcareheroes are doing an incredible job as the first line of defence against the virus. As an organization committed to the wellbeing of our communities, we wanted to do what we could to lighten the burden of these tireless individuals through this donation. We would also like to extend our thanks to Bakers Logistics for making the deliveries possible,” said Evren Albas, CEO of DEFY Appliances.

DEFY’s contribution to the fight against Covid-19 also includes the manufacture and distribution of ventilators.
