South African skincare brand donates over R1 million in products to healthcare workers

Doctors and nurses who are treating those who affected by the coronavirus, have had to make overwhelming sacrifices like working long hours and many are at high risk of contracting the virus themselves. Added to this is the toll that long hours and gruelling work take on these frontline workers.

Environ Skincare wanted to show support and care for these healthcare workers, as a result, the skincare brand recently donated over R 1 million in product to doctors and nurses at six hospitals across Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal. The hampers consisted of products which have been chosen because of their ability to soothe and restore skin that has been sensitized by hours of wearing a mask.

The award-winning skincare line included the following products in the donation: popular immune-boosting serum Colostrum Gel that helps to protect sensitive skin from external and internal stressors Original Mild Night moisturizing cream, which replenishes skin with vitamin A, antioxidants and essential nutrients.

The donations were handed over by Dr Des Fernandes, Environ’s Founder and Scientific Director, and Val Carstens, Environ’s Group Chairman. “Doctors working to treat those who have affected by the global pandemic have had to make overwhelming sacrifices. We were delighted to meet those who care for us. We hope to make a difference to their skins as much as they make a difference to peoples lives,” said Fernandes.
