Parkview Potjiekos Competition Raises Over R200 000 for Charity

The 2024 Parkview Potjiekos competition was a huge success, and initial figures suggest that we sold almost 2000 meals and raised over R200,000. This is great news as all the proceeds go toward the Nicarela beneficiary charities. Daneel Jordaan, the chairman of Nicarela said: “This event shows the power of community. We are immensely grateful to the Parkview and surrounding communities who came to support on the day, the contestants who donated so generously, and our many sponsors who donated funds and supplies to make the day a great success.”

The trophy for Best Potjie is hotly contested every year. This year, ‘The Hungry Pigs’, an entry from Lynca Meats, reclaimed the win with a unique and challenging recipe.    This is the 4th time they have claimed the prize over the years.

Daneel concludes: “We look forward to another great Potjie Competition in 2025, and also the Parkview Christmas Market, which will be held over the weekend of 22 Nov later this year. ”
