Mediclinic supports phase two of COVID-19 vaccine roll-out

The National Department of Health has confirmed that Mediclinic will play a supporting role in phase 2 of the COVID-19 Vaccine roll-out through the operation of vaccination sites within our hospitals. We are currently in the final process of meeting all the requirements at these localities, with an initial focus on the management of the Pfizer vaccine roll out.

Mediclinic believes that it is vital that all elements across the healthcare sector work together to support the National Department of Health’s roll-out and ensure the successful distribution to all communities in our country.

Nine hospitals have been selected as the first Mediclinic facilities supporting the rollout, and will commence with the Pfizer vaccine from the week of 24 May:

Mediclinic Morningside Mediclinic Medforum
Mediclinic Bloemfontein Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg Mediclinic Geneva (in George) Mediclinic Gariep (in Kimberley) Mediclinic Cape Gate Mediclinic Vergelegen Mediclinic Milnerton

Ultimately, Mediclinic believes that we will be in a strong position to support the roll-out with 43 Mediclinic facilities across South Africa being selected. These vaccination centres will become operational in collaboration with the National Department of Health as additional vaccines become available and deliveries are scheduled.

Mediclinic is proud to play a part in the public phase of the roll-out as well as completing the vaccination of our own healthcare workers.
