#LoveMeBack campaign to support homeless pets

The LoveMeBack campaign is set to be launched by the Cape of Good Hope SPCA on Facebook in early September, just ahead of National Animal Week (2-8 October 2017) and World Animal Day (4 October 2017).

The  campaign is a unique initiative that lets homeless pets wear their hearts on their paws.

“Animals here are full of character, hope and joy – despite some of them having suffered neglect or abuse in the past,”

explains Belinda Abraham, communications, resource development and education manager at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.

While the SPCA’s #LoveMeBack campaign celebrates the true spirit of animals with heart and humour, it also aims to rally support for animals at the SPCA.

“We understand that not everyone can adopt a pet, as much as they may want to. However, it should not end there. People can still act, simply by helping us to care for animals until homes are found for them.

“Many people say their pets are like their children, which highlights the commitment and connection between animals and their owners. Animals love us unconditionally and #LoveMeBack speaks to this bond because it’s about what happens when we love them back,”

concludes Abraham.
