Think Pink with the 5th CANSA shades of pink fun run/walk

On Saturday, October 30 don those sneakers and show your support for breast cancer awareness by participating in the 5thannual virtual 5km fun run/walk between 8am until 6pm powered by the Davenport  Square Shopping Centre! The event is also proudly supported by Curves who have been a valuable sponsor from inception who will provide prizes for registered participants.

By showing your support, you and your buddies can head off to your local park or gardens, or even together with your neighbours take to the streets within your local community – you really don’t have to be in the “Glen Hood” to participate.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed in October every year. According to the South African National Cancer Registry, one in 27 women in South Africa will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and according to the Cancer Association of South Africa, one in eight stands the chance of getting some type of cancer.

Breast cancer, like other types of cancers, is treatable when detected early. It is important for you to examine your breasts regularly and to go for medical check-ups.

The purpose of this fun run / walk is not only to highlight awareness of those with breast cancer, but to encourage all women to get checked regularly!

Much needed funds raised from this important event will be donated to CANSA which is then used to cover the operating costs of the organization. They support groups, transporting patients, taking care of cancer patients, educating the public, amongst many other functions and responsibilities with taking care of patients.

CANSA, (Cancer Association of South Africa) has been a leader in the fight against this disease in South Africa for decades and they are committed to connecting people facing cancer with information, day-to-day help as well as emotional support needed by all communities!

So, let all of us lend our support and register now! The first 100 people who to do so will receive a R100 shopping voucher as well as the first 400 entrants get a t-shirt and a CANSA wrap so be sure to get your entry in early. Curves (based in Musgrave) will also be sponsoring free consultation, assessment and a complimentary workout for the first 100 entrants registering.

Come rain or shine, this is worthy to get off your couch, wear something pink, and for just R50 why not register for this event! The race is open to everyone, young and old, guys and gals.

Get your tickets on Quicket or by searching “Shades of Pink” on www.quicket.co.za or feel free to go onto the link: https://qkt.io/lqb96i
