Nedbank’s new app unleashes the potential of Unemployed Youth in SA

On a mission to tackle the ever-increasing unemployment rate in South Africa, South African Bank,  Nedbank has launched a new app to help young people unlock their potential and learn how to manage their money effectively.

YouthX is brought to you by Unclocked. Me and Nedbank. The app is tailor-made for young people, with all the valuable resources young people need to unlock their potentials and make the most out of their passions.  Youth X will be available 24/7 and will be connecting young people with like-minded people like the YouthX ChangeMakers.

YouthX’s Change Makers include the Founder of Bathu, Theo Baloyi, the talented Sho Majozi, Fashion Designer, Rich Minisi , former Banyana Banyana Captain, Amanda Dlamini, Menstrual Health Activist, Candice Chirwa, and Tech Guru, Rivo Mhlari.

The virtual launch of YouthX took place on the 25th of March 2021 at 10:00 am. The event started with a poll session where guests were invited to answer questions about money management and lifestyle. Pamela Mtanga who works at Nedbank welcomed the guests. She was followed by Khensani Nobanda who gave us a brief scope about the YouthX app.

“We all know that youth employment is a challenge in South Africa, so we wanted to introduce a platform which supported young people who are unemployed and those that wish to be entrepreneurs. The Covid-19 pandemic has increased the unemployment rate in our country so we wanted to be part of the solutions, not the problems,” said Nobanda.
