Calling all compassionate petrolheads to drop a can if you can

The first-ever Infinity Foundation Car Show takes place this Sunday, bringing together car and bike clubs, owners of exclusive cars and enthusiasts in a challenge that aims to collect over 1 million cans of food for charitable causes, including Chefs with Compassion.

Undertaken in strict compliance with Covid-19 protocols, the Car Show is the culmination of a month of can collections by The Infinity Foundation, a non-profit organisation that was established at the start of the pandemic and has delivered food and blankets to thousands of households across Johannesburg and Durban.

Visitors to the Infinity Foundation Car Show can expect a safe and fun day out enjoying the sunshine and spectacular array of vehicles on display – while at the same time putting themselves in line to win amazing prizes in exchange for the donation of cans. All the ingredients are there for an epic day of fun – food stalls, stands, entertainment and gleaming vehicles with more than just horsepower under the hood… What more could you ask of the first Sunday in November?

Among the incredible prizes up for grabs is a Sony Playstation 5, which could be yours if you donate 100 cans or more to the collection.

The real stars of the show are the cars, and there are various categories, including Show & Shine with Best of Show award and prizes for vehicles classed by year in several categories. There’s also a sound competition and every entrant has added cans to the collection as part of their entry fee.

The Infinity Foundation Car Show is held in collaboration with RP Studioz, Stay Cautious and Audio SP. The bulk of the cans will be donated to Chefs with Compassion, a Not For Profit company that was formed at the beginning of lockdown and has delivered over 1,1 million meals to over 40 beneficiary organisations in Johannesburg.

Bring along your hat, sunscreen and as many cans as you can. The Car Show takes place on Sunday, 1 November from 11h00 to 16h00 at the Xavier Junction, 5 Rente Street, Ormonde. Entry fee is R25 and all the cans you can bring!
