Another secret mission for the happy hookers of 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day

KnitWits for Madiba have once again embarked on their annual secret scarf day mission – KnitWits and volunteers across the country have been churning out scarves on mass for the 67 Blankets Secret Scarves Shhh…!! Mission or as it has become known as the SSS.

Now in its 4th year,  the  SSS Mission will once again have a nationwide presence at venues across the country on the 12th July at 3pm, with  thousands of scarves being tied to trees  for people in need to take  for some winter warmth at various spots across the country.

Carolyn Steyn, the Founder of 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day  says “Our  knitwits and happy hookers throughout South Africa have been lobbying, knitting and crocheting to make sure that there are thousands of scarves to tie around trees and poles on the 12th July for people who need some warmth to take a scarf that has been made with love, as Madiba said “it’s in our hands now” and that is the ethos of the amazing family of 67 Blankets  and is also teaser activation for the record breaking 27km scarf we will be laying out in Howick at the capture site on 29th July ”

Each scarf will have the special 67 Blankets trademark  label sewn onto it and a special message attached which reads “I AM NOT LOST. IF YOU ARE COLD AND NEED ME, PLEASE TAKE ME. LOVE, 67 BLANKETS FOR NELSON MANDELA DAY”.
