New school bags, stationery and toiletry packs for local high school learners

Grade 9 and grade 10 learners, from across three schools within the Siyancuma Local Municipality, received new branded school bags, which include a toiletry pack and a stationery pack per learner.

Funded by Boikanyo Solar in collaboration with the Department of Education, this Back-2-School programme was designed to promote dignity, regain learners’ confidence, and improve self-esteem among learners.

“School bags and stationery play a critical role in a child’s educational experience, encouraging them to attend school and reminding them of the importance of education,” said Pamela Matyeka, Community Liaison Officer for Boikanyo Solar.

Moreover, this programme benefitted a local black male-owned SMME, through which the bags were branded, thereby contributing to Socio-Economic Development and Local Economic Development in the area.
