Networks Unlimited fourth corporate charity golf day showcases firm’s ongoing commitment to education

The annual corporate charity golf day hosted by Networks Unlimited, a leading value-added distributor within the Sub-Saharan Africa market, is always an enjoyable and much-anticipated event, which also goes a long way towards supporting those in need. The company’s fourth annual golf day was recently held at Centurion Country Club, with all proceeds donated to The Love Trust educational charity.

The Love Trust, founded in 2009, is a South African non-profit organisation offering Christian-based education to vulnerable children in disadvantaged communities. Committed to the idea that a values-driven education is key to a stronger South Africa, The Love Trust has to date reached over 9,000 primary and secondary beneficiaries in disadvantaged communities.

Anton Jacobsz, managing director at Networks Unlimited, commented, “In a context in which we have some 7.5 million youth not in employment, education or training at the end of 2016[1], and in which one in four schools doesn’t offer maths and science as a subject, as per information revealed by the Department of Basic Education in July 2015[2, the need to support education is clear. Networks Unlimited is proud to partner with The Love Trust and support its outreach efforts to change the lives of vulnerable children through educational support.”

The Love Trust focuses on three areas, namely:

  • The provision of low fee independent schools, in which excellent, Christian-based education is offered to disadvantaged communities.
  • Early childhood development teacher training centres, offering NQF level 4 accredited training to teachers and principals from township and rural communities and giving them the tools for teaching young children.
  • Early childhood development centre support to preschools and creches in communities of need.

Sponsors of the Networks Unlimited corporate charity golf day included business partners such as Accenture, Barnard Inc, Canvas Intelligence, CBM Training, Datacentrix, Datasciences, icomm, iSmart SA, Leopardsong Manor, Linde Viljoen, Minuteman Press Centurion, My Broadband, Röhlig-Grindrod, Three6five, VNQ Systems, Worldnet Express, OceanAir Travel and XON, as well as vendors Arbor Networks, Cofense, Fortinet, Netscout, ProLabs, Rubrik, SevOne and Tintri.

“The Love Trust has been making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their communities for almost a decade now. Networks Unlimited is proud to partner with The Love Trust in its excellent efforts. Our journey with them begins with the almost R100, 000 that was raised through our corporate golf day, and for which we give grateful thanks to our sponsors and all who attended the event. We look forward to continuing our support of this excellent organisation in years to come,” concludes Jacobsz.
