Madikwe Rural Development Project seeks to up-skill North West community

The Madikwe Rural Development Project (MRDP), a partner of Qhubeka Charity, seeks to help community members in the North West use their skills to earn a living. There are many projects including building bicycles, making bells, beaded jewelry and blankets. MRDP houses one of Qhubeka’s bicycle assembly facilities, along with a variety of Qhubeka work-to-earn programs, many of which are craft projects.

ASSOS created a “Moving Forward Jersey” to support Qhubeka, which is a global charity based in Africa that helps move people forward with bicycles. With a bicycle, a person can travel faster and further, carry more and access economic opportunities. Qhubeka has partnered with Volks Wagan to deliver bicycles to school children in Bergville that had to walk over 10 km to school.

Ten percent of the revenue made from the purchase of a Moving Forward Jersey from ASSOS, goes toward funding bicycles for Qhubeka’s programmes. The customer receives a handmade musette bag, made members of the MRDP
