Clover Mama Afrika’s advanced baking course for outstanding mamas

The Clover Mama Afrika *“Ultimate Cleanliness and Hygiene Award” winners announced during the recent Clover Mama Afrika Smarties Week have united in Centurion to enjoy a part of their prize, sponsored by long-term project partner Eqstra Flexi Fleet. Mama Selestien Moses of Ashbury in the Western Cape, Mama Nondumiso Mpitimpiti of Amalinda Forest in the Eastern Cape and Mama Mirriam Toni of Mbekweni in the Western Cape, have each selected a working member of their cooking and catering service project to join them in an Advanced cooking and baking course.

“Thanks to Eqstra Flexi Fleets valuable support, we are able to provide the three deserving winning Mamas together with one of their members to attend an intensive advance cooking and baking course. It was important for the winning Mamas to select a trustworthy and loyal member to join her on a once in a life time training session,” explains Professor Elain Vlok, Founder of Clover Mama Afrika.

The training will focus on perfecting the art of koeksister making, cake baking and decorating as well as making quality dishes to improve their respective menu for catering purposes. Furthermore, Prof Elain, will also spend a morning teaching them a new method of fruit cake making.

* These mamas were presented with this award because they continuously empower others in their communities and have maintained a solid infrastructure within their centres to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all members in their care. All three mamas will receive R50 000 worth of progressive cooking and baking courses in 2018 to improve their catering projects.
