ARTICLE FROM ROSHEN AND SANDRA

We believe all children should be raised in a family environment and placing a child back with his/her family of origin is always our first priority. If this is not possible due the family’s circumstances, the option of adoption as a permanent placement is explored. At Impilo Child Protection and Adoption services, we have social workers who are experienced in both national and international adoptions.

Every day we receive enquiries from local families who want to adopt because they are either infertile, wanting to expand their family or for step parent and family adoptions. Should these families meet the adoption criteria, they will go through a screening process and if successful, they will be matched with a child. In some instances, it is difficult to find a local adoptive family for a child and then an inter-country adoption is considered if it is the child’s best interests.
