Amazon’s Career Choice to be launched in South Africa

Amazon is bringing their Career Choice programme to three other countries and South Africa is one of them.
 
The international e-commerce and cloud computing company will also be implementing the programme in Costa Rica and Slovakia.
 
Amazon’s Career Choice is a programme that allows Amazon employees that have been with the company for more than a year to get funding to further their education in jobs that are in demand.
 
According to the Amazon website, the company will pre-pay for 95% of the tuition, fees, and textbooks, worth less than $12000 (R143400), for certificates and degrees in jobs that are high in demand.
 
Some of the occupations that are high in demand include medical lab technologies and aircraft mechanics.
Healthcare, information technology, and commercial truck driving are popular fields of study for those who have been apart of the programme.
Amazon’s Career Choice programme is already running in countries like France, Ireland, Spain, and Germany.
The classes for the programmes will take place at the Amazon facilities. More than 10 000 Amazon employees have participated in the programme.
Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 has since then the company has grown into a multibillionaire dollar enterprise.
Just recently Bezos announced that their subscription service Amazon Prime had more than 100 million subscribers.
According to Statista Amazon is the leading electronic retailer in the United Staes with nearly $178 billion in net sales for 2017.
Amazon’s CEO and founder Jeff Bezos has a real-time net worth of $126,5 billion.
