65th celebration feeds over 4000 community members

Celebrating 65 years in South Africa, manufacturing giant 3M has collaborated with Meals on Wheels to give back to the surrounding communities of Elandsfontein in Ekurhuleni.

The area holds a special place in 3M’s Sustainability and Social Investment strategy because this was where the first offices of 3M South Africa were based in 1953 when Evelyn Woods first identified the South African market.

Meals on Wheels currently serves over 2 million meals a month to more than 12 million hungry South Africans, the 54 year old NGO focuses on food security, poverty alleviation, self-sustainability and fundraising.

3M has committed to investing further in the country through their 3Mgives initiatives. Glen Bvuma , Communications Specialist at 3M said the initiative was welcomed by the employees who later participated and the organisation will look into further solidifying their relationship with the NGO.
