Mary Anne Grobler noticed a woman who was queuing to buy school clothes at a Pep store situated at a shopping centre. The elderly woman was on the way to the bank but decided to pass by the store because of the long queue. Grobler felt instinctively drawn to the third woman in the queue, who had a batch of school clothes for her children.
She struck up a conversation with the woman only to discover that the mother was forced to leave some of the school clothes due to a lack of affordability so the kind woman generously offered to pay for everything. The mother was left in disbelief when Grobler offered to pay for her items and told her to add a school bag and any other school supplies that she required. Grobler’’s good deed’s story went viral on #ImStaying Facebook group, members of the social media group commended the old woman for her generosity.
Monica Bekker added,
“God bless you for your kindness, and meeting the needs of those who have not got, bless you.”
Nat KaKundlane Shabs shared her admiration for the group as a whole:
“This group brings tears to my eyes….such love …such togetherness….God bless you.”
Phumzile Zandy Msimango Maseko echoed those sentiments:
“So much love in this country, why didn’t we experience it long time ago, but the same I am staying because of this group.”
