Sifika Business Accountants pay it forward

Zandile Sifika established Sifika Business Accountants in 2012 and on the first day of the opening of the accounting firm, she received a payment of R1500 from a who believed in her business. “After coming back from maternity leave with my second child, my husband encouraged me to open up my own business so that I can be home more for our children as I was working long hours and sometimes away from home, said Sifika”.

She used a small amount from the client to convince herself that she could become a businesswoman. “It gave me hope that everything would fall into place,” said Sifika, who now has five employees. at her firm in East London.

Fast forward to 2020, Sifika now able to pay it forward by helping other SMMEs in the Eastern Cape during Covid-19 lockdown period. Sifika is paying it forward by assisting other SMMEs in the Eastern Cape navigate the arduous process of accessing government funding and tax breaks during the current Covid-19 crisis.
