Nonprofits raised $44.4 million on Classy platform on December 31

Online and mobile fundraising platform Classy reports that it processed $44.4 million in donations on December 31 — the highest one-day total in its ten-year history — bringing to more than $1 billion the total raised on the platform in 2020 by six thousand organizations.

Donations processed on the last day of the year exceeded the record $37.9 million raised on the platform on December 1, GivingTuesday, and boosted to $288 million the total raised in December, an 84 percent year-over-year increase. The platform also reported that donors committed more than $14 million in monthly recurring donations, providing nonprofits with $168 million in annual recurring revenue as they head into the new year.

“When I look back on 2020, I’ll remember it as the year donors stepped up in a huge way, and nonprofits overcame immense challenges when the world needed them most,” said Classy co-founder and CEO Scot Chisholm. “Our promise to the social sector is that Classy will continue to put our nonprofit customers first, so they can move their missions.
