Community development hub launches project to uplift women

The COVID-19 pandemic has had far-reaching consequences beyond the spread of the disease itself, leaving many women in the informal economy without an income to feed their families.

In an effort to assist these women, Mmapula Community Development has created a skill transfer and income-generating programme for unemployed women in communities with the opportunity to earn an income through the manufacturing of face masks for corporate organizations.

Mmapula Community Development specializes in innovative yet simple paradigms in order to address socio-economic development issues, both in the rural and urban areas. Over the years, Mmapula The Community Development organization has been handling the implementation of a variety of socio-economic development projects.

Hence, it was not hard to find women to be part of the Mmaseke project because they had access to groups of women in various communities who have been exposed to skills development, Enterprise development, Communications Development Programs offered by Mmapula.

The women will also gain basic business development skills and all materials and tools needed for the production of goods. Simultaneously we associate with local small businesses for the printing of corporate logos and designs on the face masks.
