Totalsports Race Drives Breast Health Awareness

The Totalsports Women’s Race returns in August 2026, uniting women across three cities while advancing breast cancer awareness, education and early detection through PinkDrive.

The Totalsports Women’s Race is set to once again bring purpose and participation together in August 2026, with events scheduled in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg. At the centre of the initiative is its continued partnership with PinkDrive, reinforcing a long-standing commitment to improving access to breast health awareness and early detection services across South Africa.

Taking place across three major cities — Durban (2 August), Cape Town (9 August) and Johannesburg (16 August) — the race creates a platform that extends beyond fitness, positioning itself as a community-driven movement focused on women’s health and wellbeing.

PinkDrive, a key beneficiary of the event, continues to play a vital role in delivering mobile health services, education and screenings to communities that may otherwise have limited access to healthcare. Through its presence at each race, the organisation integrates awareness into a lifestyle setting, making conversations around breast health more accessible and less clinical.

The initiative reflects a broader shift toward preventative healthcare, where early detection and community engagement are increasingly recognised as critical components in addressing long-term health outcomes. By meeting women where they are — in community spaces, social environments and shared experiences — the race helps normalise health conversations and encourage proactive action.

On race days, participants can expect on-site engagement from trained healthcare professionals, including clinical breast examinations, guidance on self-checks and referrals for further screening where needed. This hands-on approach ensures that awareness is translated into practical support and measurable impact.

Beyond the event itself, the partnership between Totalsports and PinkDrive continues to extend into communities, with the aim of sustaining awareness, building trust and encouraging ongoing dialogue around women’s health.

As the 2026 series approaches, the Totalsports Women’s Race continues to demonstrate how large-scale events can be leveraged as platforms for meaningful social impact — combining participation, purpose and public health into a single, unified movement.
