A group of 15 women entrepreneurs in Noupoort have completed an intensive four-day digital training programme designed to boost their business skills and confidence.
The Women in Digital Business initiative, funded by Noupoort Wind Farm in partnership with Business E-Zone, focused on equipping local women with practical tools to grow their enterprises in the digital economy.
Participants received hands-on training in areas such as coding, project management, building online stores, e-commerce strategies, and using digital tools to streamline business operations. The programme also emphasised strengthening online presence, peer-to-peer learning, and one-on-one mentorship with experienced professionals.
“This initiative is about more than just digital skills; it’s about empowerment,” said Vanessa Fredericks, Economic Development Manager for Noupoort Wind Farm. “We are equipping women not only to run stronger businesses, but also to step into leadership roles and inspire others in the community.”
For many of the women, the programme proved transformative. “This programme has been a game-changer for my business! I’ve learned a great deal about digital marketing and how to utilise social media to attract new customers. I’m excited to grow my business using these new skills,” said participant Isisipho Mcopele.
The programme concluded with a certification ceremony on 10 September 2025 at the Noxolo Eunice Mpinda Library, celebrating the participants’ achievements and marking the beginning of their journeys as digital leaders in the Noupoort community.
