Education stands at the core of the Prescient Foundationās mission, driven by the belief that everyone deserves equal access to quality education. By empowering young minds, the Foundation equips individuals with the tools and confidence to realise their full potential.
This year, the Foundationās eleventh annual golf day, held on 25 November at the Steenberg Golf Club, raised funds for two impactful projects: the Scholarship Programme and Bel Porto Special Needs School.
Nicole Pinto, CEO of the Prescient Foundation, expressed her gratitude to sponsors and participants, stating: “The success of our annual fundraising golf day is a testament to the unwavering support of our sponsors and donors, many of whom have partnered with us since the eventās inception in 2013. These funds enable us to make meaningful contributions to our education-focused initiatives, and we couldnāt do it without the generosity of our Prescient community and industry partners.”
Project 1: Bel Porto Special Needs School ā A Safe Haven for Learning and Growth
Located in Lansdowne, Bel Porto Special Needs School has been a source of hope for children with severe intellectual and physical impairments since 1991. With a diverse student base of 274 learners, the school provides tailored educational, therapeutic, and medical support to children facing challenges such as cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, and down syndrome.
This year, funds raised will help Bel Porto develop a sensory and inclusive playpark. Unlike standard playground equipment, the sensory park will cater specifically to the childrenās unique needs, fostering creativity and helping them overcome barriers to their development.
Project 2: Scholarship Programme ā Investing in Future Leaders
Since 2018, the Prescient Foundationās Scholarship Programme has provided funding and mentorship to high-potential youth. This initiative supports students from Grade 7 through to Grade 12, with a focus on creating opportunities for academic, leadership, and personal growth.
Currently, 14 learners are enrolled in the programme, fromĀ grades 7 to 12, with three additional learners set to join in 2025. To date, 18 learners have graduated matric, most of whom have progressed to tertiary education in disciplines such as law, teaching, and architecture. The programme also recognises excellence in sports, funding students who have represented their provinces or the nation.
One of the programmeās key pillars is fostering a culture of giving back to the community. Scholars are encouraged to āpay it forward,ā and Grade 9 learner Diego Cornelius has embraced this philosophy wholeheartedly.
“Prescient has helped me a lot by supporting my education and encouraging me to do my best. Because of them, Iāve been able to take on leadership roles like running the Media Centre and Debate Society at my school. This year, I even started my own youth project calledĀ Raising Leaders of TomorrowĀ to help others like me believe in themselves. Iām really grateful for everything Prescient has done for me and hope to make them proud by giving back to my community,ā said Diego.

Through initiatives like the annual fundraising golf day, the Prescient Foundation harnesses the power of collaboration with Prescient Group subsidiaries, clients, and industry stakeholders to create lasting impact.
