K-Way Maxirace Cape Winelands signs new sponsors as the race grows

In only its 4th year of running, and despite a global pandemic and economic recession, the K-Way Maxirace Cape Winelands presented by Banhoek Chilli Oil Company, continues to show why it is leader of the pack by signing two new presenting sponsors, as well as announcing the launch of the Maxi Vagabond Race Village and Stellenbosch Trail Expo to take place at the race.

“We are excited to announce that we have taken on two world class presenting sponsors, ON Shoes and Yenn Herbal Health, and to add more feature to the race the launch of the Maxi Vagabond Race Village, something we have not been able to do since the start of Covid,” says race director, Andri Stander. “And of course, the Stellenbosch Trail Expo, where brands aligned with trail running will be able to showcase their products and services directly to their target market at Maxirace!”

International, best-selling running shoe, ON, designed by athletes and Swiss engineers, hope to give all athletes taking part in Maxirace as well as those visiting the expo the chance to feel what it is like to “run on clouds”. All 7 of ON Shoes sponsored athletes will be taking part in the 2022 K-Way Maxirace Cape Winelands presented by Banhoek Chilli Oil Company in association with ON Shoes and Yenn Herbal Health.

“Maxirace is fast becoming a leading name in Trail Racing events in the Western Cape, attracting not only local Cape Town runners, but trail runners from all over the country,” says Laura Sibiya from Tifosi Sports official distributors for On Shoes in South Africa. “Year on year Maxirace has doubled in size; and as it continues to grow, On (Running On Clouds) is extremely excited to partner with this leading event. We wish to give all Maxirace trail runners the opportunity to test out ON Trail Running shoes at their activations and to be able to feel what it is like to “Run On Clouds”. ON running is a bespoke unique brand equal in matching the ethos of Maxirace.”

No stranger to trail running, Yenn Herbal Health, manufacturers, and suppliers of natural, vegan health care products, were the perfect fit for Maxirace Cape Winelands.

“As a locally based Boland business, we felt it only right to be partnered with the leading trail race in the Boland area,” says Yenn Herbal Health founder and owner, Daryl Sampson. “Trail runners are healthy and enthusiastic about life, which is an ethos very close to our hearts. We believe that Maxirace Cape Winelands will grow to become the largest trail running event in South Africa and are very excited to be part of this growth!”

The Maxi Vagabond Race Village, sponsored by Vagabond Stretch Tents, will be a world class race village experience, both for those running and those supporting the race. The Village will be set up at Hoërskool Stellenbosch in Jannasch Street from Friday 30 September to Sunday 02 October 2022.

The 2022 K-way Maxirace Cape Winelands presented by Banhoek Chilli Oil Company in association with ON Shoes and Yenn Herbal Health which is part of the international trail running race brand, MaXi-World, is running for the 4th year in a row from the 1st to the 3rd of October 2022, and will include a 120km, 75km, 45km, 20km, 13km and 7km routes, catering for all levels of trail running.

Mountains, wine farms, fynbos, river crossings and Cape Valleys, Maxirace is your best possible trail experience in the Cape Winelands!
