School receives love from Carewell Ambulances

A few days ago Local emergency services company, Carewell Ambulances donated sanitisers and face masks to St Athanasius Orthodox Christian School.

Thabi Langa who is the spokesperson of the company said since the coronavirus had become a part of everyone’s lives. As a company, they had decided to prioritise assisting disadvantaged schools by ensuring learners were not exposed to Covid-19 because of a lack of personal protective equipment.

Langa also added that they had approached St Athanasius Christian School to understand their day-to-day challenges and to observe how best they could assist.

During a meeting, Langa told Stefan Sebastian Ndlovu, the deputy principal for the school that concerns about personal protective equipment were highlighted.

The Carewell ambulances also donated 180 units of 500ml sanitiser bottles and face cloth masks to the learners in the fight against the pandemic.

“Schools remain part of our organisation’s priorities as our goal is to ensure every learner is equipped with quality education and that no obstacle is preventing any learner from achieving their best.”

“Since the opening of schools on 15 February 2021, Carewell Ambulances wanted to ensure that personal protective equipment was not a part of any school’s issues,” added Langa.

Upon receiving the donations, Ndlovu said it was a welcome gesture which helped the school and community. “Besides creating relationships, it also provides the much-needed support which small and disadvantaged schools cannot always get.”

“We sincerely appreciate their contribution in protecting and serving the community at large which our school is also part of,” Ndlovu concluded
