Eskom helps improve Mpumalanga primary school

The Eskom Development Foundation has assisted in making improvements at Isabelladale Primary School in Warburton, a farm situated in the Msukaligwa Local Municipality in Mpumalanga.
The school, which starts from Grade R to Grade 7 and has five educators, was in a dilapidated condition when officials visited it. The donation and the work that was completed included making improvements to the computer lab, the school kitchen and replacing the ceilings. To increase security for the learners and the teachers as well as the school equipment, the Foundation also installed burglar bars.
“We are grateful to Eskom for all they have done for our school. Their intervention has improved the lives of the kids at the school. Their computer lab is now more secured and with state of the art equipment. Even our community members are able to use the computer lab so the benefit extends beyond the school yards. The school kitchen is also now in a better condition, hygienic and much safer,” says school principal, Mr Makhanya.
The Eskom Development Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Cecil Ramonotsi, says the organisation supports the continued efforts to improve our country’s education system by creating a conducive environment for teaching and learning in schools. “Eskom is concerned about more than just electricity in the country. We are committed to making a meaningful difference in communities and through such donations to schools and other social institutions, we are touching the lives of ordinary South Africans and bringing about positive change and development,” says Ramonotsi.
