Medirite offers SA’s most affordable Covid-19 antibody test

Medirite now offers the cheapest Covid-19 rapid antibody tests in South Africa. The tests cost just R129.99 each, and are available from the Medirite pharmacies conveniently located in Shoprite and Checkers stores across the country.

This low Covid-19 antibody test price point, and the relatively painless and hassle-free nature of the test, make understanding antibody status more accessible than ever.

Customers who wish to take the antibody test simply need to make an appointment with their pharmacist, answer a few relevant questions and then provide a small blood sample via a finger prick. Results are available within 10 minutes, while customers wait.

Since the latter stages of the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020, these antibody tests have been used extensively to determine the presence of antibodies in a patient’s blood, which may indicate a prior or asymptomatic infection of the disease.

The results of these tests also play an important role in assisting health authorities to track and monitor the spread of Covid-19, and pharmacists log the results to the necessary databases.

Medirite has also introduced a number of new value-added services during the pandemic that aim to make obtaining medicine safer and easier for all:

● The pharmacy has teamed up with Mr D to deliver medication directly to customers’ doors.

● Customers can also pre-order repeat medications on their phone with Medirite’s PrepMyScript service, which reminds them when their script is due – customers simply need to select the medication they want pre-packed, which is available for convenient collection in store.
