The South African Constitution enshrines the rights of the South African people and sparks the fire of our democracy. Notably, its preamble holds important words, stating: “We, the people of South Africa, believe that South Africa belongs to all who live in it, united in our diversity.”
As we celebrate 25 years since our constitutional rights became effective, Nando’s is inviting South Africans to make their tables bigger by exploring tables far from them and meeting citizens outside their comfort zones and regular haunts.
Justine Cullinan, General Manager Marketing – Brand Strategy and Communication at Nando’s, explains that celebrating South Africa’s diversity is instrumental to the progression of the country, and it is for this reason that Nando’s has launched the Make The Table Bigger campaign.
“We live in a wonderfully diverse country, but many of us stick to our routines of visiting the same places and seeing the same people. This year, in honour of our Constitution’s 25th Anniversary, we wanted to offer South Africans a reason to truly embody the unity of our diversity, push people out of their comfort zones and incentivise them to visit a table far from where they usually eat.”
The campaign calls on all South Africans to come together and be the initiators of togetherness. Generations before them fought for democracy, and now the youth can keep that flame burning for the country’s next generation.
