Singer-songwriter Nomcebo Zikode launches goodwill foundation

Nomcebo Zikode, singer-songwriter of the global hit single “Jerusalema”, has announced the launch of her goodwill foundation – the Nomcebo Zikode Foundation in partnership with Aidonic, supported by Drip and Liv Village.
Rooted in values and beliefs of accountability, transparency, girl-child empowerment, protection against crimes of gender-based violence, rights to education, early development of children and the support of those in the creative arts and music sector, the foundation launches with its first project donation set to take place this month.

Starting in Zikode’s hometown of Hammarsdale in KwaZulu-Natal, as a gesture of giving back to her upbringing, the Nomcebo Zikode Foundation is donating R125,000 to disadvantaged communities in the area.

“This has been a lifelong dream for me to have a purpose-driven NGO that brings an effective change in the communities that are struggling in our country and throughout Africa,” said Zikode on the announcement of her foundation.
