Televangelist rolls out food aid.

Zimbabwe Hatfield residents have thanked televangelist Uebert Angel for his philanthropic gesture following a donation of roller meal and food hampers to underprivileged families.

The donation from the outspoken cleric was made to less privileged areas as part of a million-dollar Covid-19 fund aimed at supporting the fight against the pandemic in three southern African countries.

The donations were also received by neighbouring SADC countries like Botswana and Zambia. The food donations were made under the Uebert Angel Foundation which is also a charity wing of the Spirit Embassy Church.

A senior church official from the Foundation, Pastor Felix mentioned that it was not the first time that the Foundation had engaged in social responsibility initiatives. The Pastor also went on to say that the donation was not only made because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Foundation is sure to visit other various parts of Zimbabwe with the aim of lending a helping hand to families most likely to be affected by the pandemic. So far, the Foundation has distributed food aid to seven areas of Harare.

“We are giving 10 kilograms of mealie meal and food hampers. We did not start this because of the COVID-19 pandemic, its part of our philanthropic mission,” said Pastor Felix.

Uebert Angel and the Foundation have also been paying school fees for underprivileged learners from a cross-section of selected educational institutions in Zimbabwe. After the philanthropic food gesture, Tapiwa Mashakada Hatfield expressed his gratitude saying the relief was needed.

“This is a relief to those who have been affected by the lockdown. On behalf of the people of Hatfield we want to thank the foundation for the food aid,” said Mashakada.
