Life Employee Health Solutions (Life EHS), part of the Life Healthcare Group and a leading health risk management business has officially launched its workplace vaccination programme for several corporate clients across South Africa. This is to ensure client employees are included in the fast tracking of the vaccination roll-out to reach population immunity as quickly as possible.
Life EHS is and has been delivering occupational health and wellness solutions to clients across various industries, including the mining sector for more than 30 years.
Nicole du Preez, Life EHS CEO says, âWhilst Life EHS has been working tirelessly to ensure that we can be catalysts in vaccinating more South Africans, this launch comes at a critical time when the President has asked the Department of Health to accelerate our countryâs vaccination programme following the peak of the third wave of COVID-19 infections. As a health risk management provider in this country, it is our duty to provide the Government with the support they require to vaccinate as many South Africans as possible.â
Du Preez continued to say that with the expertise and backing of the Life Healthcare Group, Life EHS is well positioned to deliver streamlined workplace vaccination site services. Life Healthcare currently has active vaccination sites at 15 of its private hospitals in South Africa.
As workplaces are given the green light to commence workplace vaccination sites, the management and administration of the effective workplace roll-out of COVID-19 vaccinations has commenced with Life EHS clients, including Telesure Investment Holdings (TIH), Steyn City, which will see just over 10, 000 client employees vaccinated by end August 2021. Additional Life EHS client workplace vaccinations sites will become active later in August, further increasing the number of client employees to be vaccinated.
According to Tom Creamer, CEO of TIH: âOur workplace vaccination site at our head office in Johannesburg, Auto & General Park, caters for all employees who work for the TIH group of companies. It follows the same rollout phases as mandated by the National Department of Health and we aim to vaccinate 160 employees a daily to assist with the acceleration of South Africaâs vaccination programme. The feedback has been incredibly positive and the process has been described as being easy, quick, convenient and safe.â
Life EHS is currently working on supporting a number of its mining clients (requiring >5000 employees onsite), in support of The Minerals Council as well as our large client sites (requiring >4000 employees on site) with future workplace vaccination sites. As part of the vaccination process, Life EHS supports the client through the NDOH workplace accreditation process including ensuring that their clients are equipped with an effective registration system that links to the EVDS system so that clients are compliant with Governmentâs phased roll-out per age group. The Life EHS vaccination system will support employee booking and scheduling to align with the specific workplace shift cycle, ongoing occupational health and safety legislative requirements as well as medical aid reimbursements at the end of the process.
Life EHS also provide their clients with trained and certified vaccinators to administer the vaccinations to their employees. Furthermore, they provide Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in the likely event of any adverse effects after the inoculation.
The employees of the corporate clients supported by Life EHS can expect a seamless process when they arrive at their vaccination site. The site will ensure that employees are registered and are on the EVDS system as part of consenting to take the vaccination.
The Life EHS workplace vaccination roll-out also ensures that client employees are given their vaccination certificates and that they are scheduled for the next jab, at the same site, if they are not taking the single-dose vaccine.
âWe are doing our part to spread the availability of the vaccine and to ensure that our clients, with very large employee numbers, are able to contribute to the acceleration of vaccines while they ensure that their staff are protected from COVID-19. The COVID-19 vaccination is our most important form of protection in preventing further deaths and peaks in infections and we encourage all those who are eligible to get vaccinated for the safety of all South Africansâ, concludes du Preez from Life EHS.
