Pick n Pay School Club joined forces with recycling company Polyco to orchestrate magical moments for more than 3 3000 Grade 1 learners at schools around the country as they started their school careers.
Polyco’s Million Plus initiative in collaboration with Pick n Pay School Club aims to educate young learners about the importance of plastic recycling.
In Durban, 65 unsuspecting learners at AYS Memorial Primary School in Chatsworth erupted into joyous laughter upon receiving the packs filled with a Polyco recycled plastic lunchbox, water bottle, cap and T-shirt. The Pick n Pay School Club Durban team also surprised 80 learners at Mahatma Primary School and 60 at Redfern Primary School in Phoenix, and 90 at Parklands Primary in Queensburgh, with the same packs.
“The donation made the start of school even more special for these young learners as they start their school career,” said Pick n Pay’s executive for environmental, social and governance, Vaughan Pierce.
