In a remarkable display of dedication to social upliftment, Khulisa Social Solutions and Social TV are forging ahead with a mission to ensure that the NGOs that recently underwent an intensive media training program continue to drive positive change in communities.
Khulisa Social Solutions, a distinguished non-profit organization with a proven track record of empowering marginalized communities, joined forces with Social TV’s Managing Editor, Samm Marshall, to orchestrate an impactful training event for 10 NGOs from the Northwest region. The training, which covered various aspects of media and communication, resonated deeply with participants, leaving them empowered and equipped to amplify their messages.
Lesley Ann Van Selm, the Managing Director of Khulisa Social Solutions, shared her enthusiasm for the ripple effect generated by the training. “The journey is far from over. Our collaboration with Social TV marks a significant step towards the sustainable impact generated during the training,” said Van Selm. She further emphasized the commitment of both organizations to guide and support the NGOs as they navigate their communication strategies post-training.
The training itself, held at Mogwase’s OBPI incubator, was a comprehensive exploration of media training basics, social media dynamics, media language proficiency, content development, and effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Facilitated by Khulisa Social Solutions, the sessions sparked immediate action among participants. Reports have already emerged of NGOs taking to social media platforms and establishing meaningful connections with their audiences.
Samm Marshall, the Managing Editor and media trainer at Social TV, underscored the pivotal role of this collaboration. “The training was just the beginning. We recognize that sustained momentum is crucial for these NGOs to translate their newfound skills into tangible change,” Marshall commented. The collaboration between Social TV and Khulisa Social Solutions signifies a shared commitment to drive lasting impact and nurture the growth of NGOs that contribute to societal betterment.
As this collaboration progresses, the focus shifts toward maintaining momentum. Khulisa Social Solutions, a multi-award-winning NPO, boasts a nationwide presence, employing over 180 staff members through 18 offices. In conjunction with 350 NGO partners, Khulisa’s reach spans approximately 150 communities, impacting nearly 100,000 lives annually.
The partnership’s endeavor to sustain impact aligns perfectly with the core values of both organizations. Khulisa Social Solutions remains dedicated to empowering vulnerable children, youth, and marginalized individuals, aiming to unlock their potential for a sustainable future. Social TV, as a platform committed to covering impactful news, recognizes the transformative potential of NGOs’ stories and endeavors to provide ongoing coverage and support.
The collaborative efforts of Khulisa Social Solutions and Social TV exemplify a new paradigm in media and social responsibility. By equipping NGOs with essential skills and ensuring continued guidance, the partnership has the potential to catalyze enduring positive change, not only in the Northwest region of South Africa but as a model for global empowerment.
