Join us for a day of food, fun and charity at the Parkview Potjiekos Competition 2024

On Sunday, July 28th, the Nicarela Charity will host their annual Potjiekos competition at George Hay Park in Parkview. Teams will cook and sell their Potjiekos dishes while attendees enjoy the delicious food under the warm Johannesburg sky. With over 30 pots to choose from, including vegetarian options, there’s something for everyone.

If you’re an intrepid chef, there’s still space to enter with your team of four and themed meal ideas. Contestants will be judged on their food, vibe, and decoration. Entering a team is a great team building activity, whether for companies or extended families – all while making a difference.

All proceeds from the day go entirely to beneficiaries of the charity, including care homes for abused women and children and local school bursaries.

The winning team will be crowned the 2024 Potjiekos champions, and attendees can also vote for the “Best decorated stall” and have a chance to win the lucky draw. A plate of potjie will be sold to attendees from midday with a choice of rice or pap at R100 per serving.

Join the teams from 9:30 am to enjoy a lovely breakfast meal while your little ones have fun in the park. There is no entrance fee for the public into the park, so come out and support a great cause.
