Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta recent declared in a press statement that his country was trying all it could to come up with means of resurrecting the economy. As a result, restaurants and eateries are to be open very soon.
Amid coronavirus, the government has considerd allowing selected restaurants and eateries to open and undertake minimal operations as a way of reviving the economy progressively.
It is clear that the country is concerned about people’s health and sees it best for people to stay at home but on the other hand the government is concerned about the dilapidating economy which might economically paralyse the country.
Ways are still being undertaken to see which may be best to save the business world and the economy though not endangering people’s lives. In all the government proceedings, people are therefore urged to stay protected indoors as we are still in the fight against the pandemic.
It has been decided that restaurants to be open are those that have observed highest levels of health regulations compliance. After being re-opened, these food outlets will be expected to maintain measures that mitigate against the spread of coronavirus.
“One immediate step from the work done so far is that we shall allow a few restaurants and eateries in selected counties that show the highest levels of health regulations compliance and the ability to arrange for employee testing to undertake minimal operations. While maintaining measures that mitigate against the spread of coronavirus,” President Kenyatta said.
President Kenyatta told Kenyans that everyone had a responsibility of ensuring that the virus does not continue to spread rapidly so that things would go back to normal sooner.
“We will re-open our economy but we must do this in a way that does not endanger many thousands of lives. We are in the middle of a war, and the key for all of us to return to normal is keeping our infections rates low,” said President Kenyatta.
