Global Scholarship Expands Health Leadership

A new global scholarship is opening access for healthcare institutions in developing countries to participate in international policy dialogue shaping the future of health systems worldwide.

Future of Health (FOH), a global community of senior health leaders working to shape healthcare systems for the future, has announced the launch of the FOH Global Scholarship. The initiative enables health organisations from developing regions to join the FOH network and contribute to research and dialogue informing global health policy.

The scholarship supports participation from low- and middle-income countries, ensuring a broader representation of healthcare system realities in discussions shaping innovation, policy development and healthcare delivery models.

The inaugural recipients include Aria Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in Quetta, Pakistan, led by CEO Dr Sohail Khan, and M.P. Shah Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, under the leadership of CEO Dr Toseef Din. Both institutions bring experience from healthcare systems operating in complex and resource-constrained environments.

FOH currently brings together 65 senior leaders from healthcare systems, academia, government and industry across 14 countries, focusing on collaborative research and knowledge-sharing aimed at improving healthcare outcomes globally.

According to FOH Co-Chairmen Prof Eyal Zimlichman and Chip Kahn, strengthening representation from diverse healthcare environments improves the relevance and impact of research outputs intended to guide global health system development.

Dr Sohail Khan, CEO of AIMS, brings extensive international clinical experience and healthcare leadership expertise focused on expanding access to high-quality care in underserved regions.

Dr Toseef Din, CEO of M.P. Shah Hospital, leads a tertiary healthcare institution in Kenya providing specialised services across East Africa, contributing insights on managing healthcare delivery in rapidly developing systems.

Through the scholarship, participating organisations join FOH’s annual research programme, expert workgroups and global summit, contributing to peer-reviewed publications and policy recommendations aimed at improving healthcare resilience, accessibility and innovation.

The initiative also welcomes philanthropic partners interested in supporting expanded representation in global health leadership, with FOH matching contributions to support additional scholarships.

Future of Health continues to focus on strengthening collaboration between policymakers, hospital leaders, researchers and industry stakeholders to develop practical solutions that improve health outcomes and support resilient healthcare systems globally.
