South Africa’s presence on the global cruise tourism stage has been strengthened once again after boutique travel agency Cruise Vacations secured the title of Africa’s Best Cruise Travel Agency 2025 at the prestigious World Cruise Awards — marking the fourth consecutive year the accolade has returned home.
The award was presented at the World Cruise Awards Gala Ceremony in Bahrain on 6 December 2025, an event attended by senior executives from leading international cruise lines, global travel decision-makers and media. The ceremony forms part of a globally respected programme that celebrates excellence, innovation and leadership within the cruise industry.
This year’s recognition carries added significance as it coincides with owner Gaynor Galbraith Neill’s 30th year in luxury cruising, a milestone that reflects three decades of industry expertise, consistency and service excellence.
Operating as a boutique agency, Cruise Vacations has built its reputation on specialist knowledge and strong international relationships. These partnerships have played a key role in expanding access to luxury, expedition, niche and river cruising within South Africa — travel categories that demand advanced training and in-depth product understanding.
The agency is also deeply invested in skills development and industry sustainability. As a proud member of ASATA, Cruise Vacations actively supports the training of South African travel agents, mentors new entrants to the industry and contributes to long-term sector growth.
Beyond business success, Cruise Vacations continues to demonstrate that tourism can be a force for good. The agency supports Rhino Connect’s rehabilitation programme, contributes to local charities serving vulnerable communities and works to reduce its operational footprint.
Reflecting on the achievement, Galbraith Neill said the award is a testament to the passion of her team, their commitment to the local travel trade and a shared belief that travel can create meaningful social impact.
The World Cruise Awards form part of the globally recognised World Travel Awards, widely regarded as the benchmark for excellence in the travel and tourism industry.
