The Parkview Charity Christmas Market a great success

The Parkview Charity Christmas Market, a much-anticipated annual event, returned to the George Hay Park in Parkview for its 16th year last weekend and was an overwhelming success. The market attracted large crowds each day, thanks to the favorable weather conditions and an exciting lineup of exhibitors and performances.

Over 80 diverse stalls were set up, showcasing the talents of local crafters and offering a variety of food options. The food vendors were busy throughout the weekend, with the oyster and champagne bar proving to be a particular hit among the attendees. Two large tents provided seating and cool relief from the heat to the more than 6000 people who visited over the weekend.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the stage was active throughout the weekend with captivating performances from local schools and other entertainers. A dedicated children’s play zone kept the little ones entertained with a host of exciting activities.

Daneel Jordaan, Chairman of Nicarela Charity, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community. “The weather played a huge role, but so did all the contributors to the market, like the exhibitors, the entertainment, the great hospitality; and of course, our sponsors and partners,” he said.

He also highlighted the inspiring presence of all Nicarela’s beneficiary charities over the weekend. The profits from this year’s market will significantly support these charities, who, in these tough times, will greatly welcome the assistance.

For 15 years, the community in and around the market has been incredibly supportive, contributing to the market’s consistent success. This year was no different. The Parkview Charity Christmas Market not only kicked off the festive season in style but also made a significant impact to the lives of those in need.
