Bursary programme sees success as three beneficiaries are set to graduate

Three students from Noupoort, who are the direct recipients of a localised bursary programme, have successfully completed their studies and are due to graduate this year, a success that will be shared by their families and the greater community.

“The bursary fund enabled me to focus on my studies without financial hardship, resulting in good grades and an enjoyable varsity experience. I am now a qualified social worker and forever grateful to the Noupoort Wind Farm and Studytrust for their support,” said Ngcwelekazi Sicina Bachelor of Social Work student at the University of Fort Hare and a beneficiary of the Noupoort Wind Farm Bursary programme.

Designed to provide access to tertiary education to community learners who are in matric or already enrolled full-time at a university or college at the time of applying, this programme has provided invaluable educational and skills development opportunities for aspiring individuals since its inception in 2018.

Commenting on the success of the bursary programme, Noupoort Wind Farm Economic Development Manager, Sandisiwe Mntonintshi said, “We are thrilled to see the impact our bursary fund programme has made in the lives of these young individuals. Education is a vital tool for empowerment and personal growth, and we are proud to support these students in achieving their academic goals. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”

Other graduates include Brenda Rowan, who completed her B Ed Honours, at Nelson Mandela University; Ngcwelekazi Sicina who completed her Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Fort Hare; and Wandisile Katise who completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Fort Hare.
