On Sunday, 22 August 2021, Primestars in partnership with Liberty Group CSI launched the screening of maths and science tutorials under the #StandingWithTheClassOf2021 initiative. The activation took place at Ster-Kinekor, in the Mall of Africa, Midrand. This initiative was officially launched by the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga through a Webinar on Thursday, 19 August 2021.
#StandingWithTheClassOf2021 is an initiative aimed at supporting under-resourced matriculants from public schools through the provision of Maths and Science tutorials – delivered through Ster-Kinekor cinemas across the country under Primestar’s eduCate Revision Programme. The eduCate programme has a decade long proven track record of successfully implemented revision programmes across all 9 provinces.
Over the weekend, thousands of Grade 12 learners across all nine provinces enjoyed maths and science tutorials – screened through various Ster-Kinekor cinemas. The weekend’s tutorial sceening is just one of many that are scheduled to take place at cinemas across the country in the coming months. All screenings are conducted under strict Covid-19 safety protocols. â¨

Last year’s campaign #SavingTheClassOf2020, reached over 25 000 matriculants nationally. We have no doubt that #StandingWithClassOf2021 will be equally successful in providing much needed tutorial support to matriculants during these unprecedented times.” said Nomaxabiso.
