It’s been 11 years since Greenpop was launched, in an effort to plant more trees in South Africa. Since then, the organisation has grown from strength to strength, planting over 130,000 trees around South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Now they are hoping to plant 500,000 by 2025.
This year, the organisation plans to install indigenous fynbos gardens around the Western Cape schools, but they need people to help out by volunteering.Aside from their tree planting initiatives, they also hope to create green spaces at schools in the Western Cape. The volunteers will be planting fynbos plants, weeding the gardens and working on propagation for further planting. The plant days will run from 9 am to 12 pm.
Their latest initiative is to create Fynbos gardens at under-greened schools. They have identified the schools in need and now need a helping hand at planting the beautiful fynbos gardens.
They need volunteers for the following dates and schools.
