Through the Kadewere Foundation, Lyon and Warriors soccer player Tintotenda Kadewere extended his hand by donating groceries to the City of Harare Emergency Services’ front line workers just to appreciate their steering efforts in fighting COVID-19.
Front line workers, as well as patients at the City of Harare Emergency Services, received a major boost amid the coronavirus pandemic crisis. According to the foundation Chairperson, Prosper Kadewere, the gesture is their latest show of commitment to assist Zimbabwe in fighting the virus.
Prosper said: âThese front line workers are very brave, you know testing Covid-19 and dealing with the pandemic and its related issues is not easy hence we thought it wise to cater for their basic needs just to boost their morale and appreciate the great work they are doing. We also catered for the patience at the Hospital. This is just the beginning as we are planning to take the initiative to other centres.â
âThey say charity begins at home thatâs why we chose to start with Harare City Council since Tino once played for Harare City FC over and above, we appreciate the sacrifice by these brave ladies and gentlemen.â
City of Harare Emergency Services Chief Medical Officer Dr Soman Mudariki extended his gratitude to the Foundation upon receiving the goods and said the items will go a long way in assisting front line workers and patients with their health needs.
âWe are very grateful for the kind gesture, surely it wouldnât have come at a better time because these people are sacrificing a lot for a healthy cause,â said Mudariki.
âFighting this Covid-19 pandemic is a serious task and the provision of basic needs will surely boost the morale of these workers. We hope this will cascade to other workers as well and will always applaud the gesture by Kadewere Foundation,â concluded Dr Mudariki.
