Former domestic worker turned PR whiz inspires with new book

After years of cleaning people’s homes, former domestic worker, Ntombizodwa Mahlangu decided to share her story by writing a book about her journey to becoming a Public Relations Practitioner.

Brightness of Diamonds Through Soil follows her journey from growing up in Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, being a teenage mother and finally working for a big company in the credit industry.

“When I was a domestic worker with only a matric certificate, I never thought I could be an author,” she said about the book, which took her two years to complete.

Editor, Lali van Zuydam said Mahlangu is an inspiration to young women, kids in rural areas, young mothers as well as others who grew up less than privileged.

The book will hit the shelves in late August. “I’m super excited! This is yet more proof that all things are possible,” said Mahlangu. The 34-year-old also hopes to obtain an honours degree someday.
