Following a proposal that has been made by English Premier League (EPL) managers, Kenyans might be watching free live English Premier League on YouTube for the remaining 92 matches.
The coronavirus pandemic has led to soccer players not being able to play any live matches as no social gatherings are allowed so as to curb the pandemic. However, because of this, league managers have been in discussions that YouTube broadcasts live free matches.
The season is said to restart soon following the coronavirus lockdown. This is according to reports in the media. It was also noted that the last time the Premier League showcased free matches was on the 2013/14 season.
In Kenya, the English Premier League is the most popular sports competition and it is mandatory for Kenyans to pay in-order to watch their favourite matches and players via satellite channel Super Sport.
In-order to allow maximum TV coverage, no two matches will be played simultaneously. This might be because games will be played behind closed doors due to the long-term suspension of mass gatherings.
The clubs want to resume training on May 12 and play the first round of matches on June 12. The initial plan is to first complete the current league season, which still has an average of nine rounds of matches left for each of the 20 teams, in seven weeks.
