Junior Achievement South Africa (JASA) is pleased to announce the partnership with Project Management Institute (PMI) chapter South Africa. This morning, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will see project management introduced as part of the JASA flagship Enterprise Programme (EP). The EP, which sees Grade 11 learner’s start-up an enterprise and run it for three months, is a strategic programme that provides practical entrepreneurial skills.
“The introduction of project management to this flagship programme compliments the critical skills gained through the Enterprise Programme,” says JASA Managing Director, Nelly Mofokeng.
“Through the signing of this MOU, we are helping learners to collaborate, organise, create, plan think critically and get things done. Together JASA and PMI are developing future leaders with invaluable skills,” says Otema Yirenkyi, PMI Global Vice President.
JASA has been spearheading entrepreneurship in schools for the past forty years on the three pillars of entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy, and has reached over 500 000 students since 1979. As a leader in this space, JASA continues to purposefully craft opportunity makers.
“We look forward to further broadening our reach in this dynamic space and look forward to a fruitful partnership,” Mofokeng added.
